How It Works
Step One — Get in Touch

You’ve explored my portfolio and feel my style is right for you and your dog.
Simply get in touch via the contact form on my website, and we can start planning your session.

Step Two — Planning

I’ll send over a short questionnaire and session guide. This helps me understand your dog’s personality, what makes them unique, and what you’d love to capture.

From there, I’ll confirm all the details, recommend suitable locations, and secure your session date.

In the days leading up to your session, I keep a close eye on the weather. If conditions really aren’t suitable, we’ll simply rearrange at no cost to you. Soft, overcast days are often ideal, and even light rain or cloud usually isn’t an issue. If brighter conditions are forecast, we can shoot closer to sunrise or sunset for calm, flattering light or choose a location with plenty of shaded areas.

Step Three — The Session

We’ll meet at the chosen location and go for a relaxed walk. Along the way, we’ll pause at natural spots to create a mix of portraits and candid moments.

There’s no pressure for your dog to perform. I work gently and adapt to their energy, allowing natural moments to unfold.

Feel free to bring treats and a favourite toy.

Step Four — Your Gallery

Within around two weeks, you’ll receive a carefully curated online gallery.

From this, you’ll select your included full-resolution digital images, along with any prints included in your package.

Step Five — Enjoy Your Images

Your final images will be delivered via your private online gallery.

If you’d like additional prints or wall art, you’re welcome to order through your gallery store. Your store will remain active for 60 days with no pressure to purchase anything further.

Frequently Asked Questions

My dog won’t sit still — is that a problem?

Not at all. Most dogs don’t.

I photograph dogs as they are—whether they’re energetic, curious, or constantly on the move. The goal isn’t perfect behaviour, but capturing their personality. Many posed looking images are simply brief moments captured naturally during the session.

Do dogs need to be off-lead?

No. Your dog can stay on lead at all times if needed.

Safety and comfort come first, and leads can be edited out naturally where appropriate.

Where do sessions take place?

Standard sessions take place outdoors in carefully chosen locations around Frodsham Hill, Helsby Hill, Delamere Forest, or Chester city centre for urban sessions.

These are locations I know well, allowing me to work confidently with light, conditions, and seasons.

If you have a specific location in mind, feel free to ask.

Legacy and end-of-life sessions are available within 15 miles of Frodsham and can take place at your home or another suitable location if your dog is unable to travel.

What if the weather isn’t great?

We’ll stay in touch before your session. If conditions are unsuitable, we’ll reschedule at no cost to you.

Overcast weather is often ideal for photography, and light rain usually isn’t a problem. If brighter conditions are forecast, we can arrange to shoot closer to sunrise or sunset for calm, flattering light or choose a location with plenty of shaded areas

How are the photos edited?

Editing is natural and understated, avoiding heavy retouching or trends.

The aim is to create timeless images that feel honest and won’t date over time.

Will you try to sell us lots of extras?

No. Everything is kept simple and transparent.

Your session includes full-resolution digital images, with no sales appointments or pressure.

If you’d like prints or wall art, you can order them through your private online store — but it’s entirely optional.

How do we book?

Just get in touch via the contact page to check availability and ask any questions. I’ll guide you through the rest.
